What is CurricuLLM?
CurricuLLM is an AI learning platform built around the National Curriculum (England), GCSE subject content, and Oak National Academy lesson sequences. It works like a personalised tutor for each pupil — guiding them through curriculum-aligned learning conversations rather than just giving them answers. You can see what your pupils are working on, where they get stuck, and how they're progressing.
Getting set up
Three things to try in your first 10 minutes
How is this different from ChatGPT?
| General AI tools | CurricuLLM |
|---|---|
| Give answers on request | Guides pupils to find answers themselves |
| Generic content from anywhere | Aligned to the National Curriculum (England) and Oak National Academy |
| Around 41% accuracy on curriculum questions | 89% accuracy in independent curriculum benchmarks |
| No teacher visibility | Analytics showing pupil issues, achievements, and class-level progression |
| No safety layer for schools | Built-in safety monitoring, guardrails, and the Safety Centre for behavioural pattern detection |
Pupil wellbeing — CurricuLLM's Socratic design is built to prevent overreliance — it guides thinking rather than replacing it. But it's worth making this explicit to pupils. The pupil guides cover three wellbeing topics: overreliance on AI (developing your own thinking rather than outsourcing it), parasocial attachment (understanding the AI is a tool, not a person), and healthy usage patterns (knowing when to step away and talk to a real person). We recommend reinforcing these messages when you introduce the platform.
Connectors — If your school has Connected Services set up, you can enable them per-conversation by clicking the + button in the chat composer and selecting Connectors. This lets the AI use external tools like web search or your school library catalogue while helping you.
